The ACDC strain is not named after the rock band but is an acronym for “Alternative Cannabinoid Dietary Cannabis.” ACDC Terpenes
 
The strain was given its name by the original breeder, Northern California physician Dr. William Courtney in 2011. He acquired the seeds from Barcelona and crossed them with Cannatonic and Ruderalis strains hoping they’d help with his wife’s lupus. Dr. Courtney’s intention is for it to be used as an (unheated) dietary supplement.
 
This hybrid blend has an equal balance between indica and sativa components. Users have reported that it is an uplifting blend that allows concentration and intense calmness. It is primarily used for its therapeutic effects.
