P-cymene Terpene Isolate:

 

A common terpene found in hundreds of different plants, including cannabis. It often shows up on the dinner table in cumin, oregano, thyme, anise, and coriander. Its aroma and flavor have hints of citrus, earth, and wood. It is not a primary compound in cannabis and only shows up in small amounts in some strains. It is thought to have antimicrobial and antibacterial benefits.

  • Potential Medical Effects:

     Research has shown cymene to have :

    • antibacterial properties.
    • One study in particular, revealed p-cymene to be effective against E.coli in contaminated unpasteurized apple juice. Another study showed cymene’s antifungal properties to increase when actively fighting pathogens alongside other terpenes, such as terpineol and linalool. This synergistic combination is otherwise known as the Entourage Effect.
    • Other therapeutic effects of cymene include its ability to fight pain and inflammation in mice,
    • antineoplastic, or cancer-fighting, properties by inhibiting tumors.
