Terpenes

What exactly are terpenes?

Terpenes are organic compounds found in all plants that are responsible for giving the plant its unique smell & taste. The unique smell helps plants in the wild to attract pollinators and ward off harmful predators. Terpenes are created in the same glands that produce CBD and THC. Due to the fact that there are so many different variants of marijuana the plant can create its own combinations of terpenes. This is why No two plants smell exactly the same.

Terpenes are not only responsible for the taste & smell of these plants but also have several medical benefits and uses.  If Terpenes are combined with some of the different cannabinoids found in cannabis, they can create what is known as the entourage effect. The entourage effect is what gives strains of cannabis a variety of different effects since the flavor profiles can come about from an almost infinite number of terpene combinations.

With each type of terpene having a unique scent and function attached to it. Terpenes, much like cannabinoids, bind with certain receptors and neurotransmitters in our body and brain, giving rise to a wide array of effects. Some terpenes enhance your mood, others boost your energy

Strain-Specific Terpenes:

Strain-specific terpenes are scientifically formulated to mimic the real strain's natural terpene ratios. This is done by identifying the primary terpene ratios commonly found in the strains and reverse engineer the process while removing the cannabinoids.

It’s best to start by testing real cannabis at a certified lab. Then recreate that flower’s terpene profile in the lab and test the formula against real cannabis flowers. If the terpene profile matches that of the actual Cannabis strain then we have formulated it correctly.

Our strain-specific terpenes are designed to match the terpene profiles of the flowers we extract these essential oils from. Although this is all done in labs we pride ourselves in using organic terpenes in our blends which go through vigorous testing to ensure quality
